Duplicate Detection
Duplicate images should be detected so as not to be imported twice, so if they are somehow, they can be removed.
Status A patch has been submitted on the mailing list and will hopefully be attached to bug #169646 soon (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=169646). It has been critiqued (http://mail.gnome.org/archives/f-spot-list/2005-October/msg00044.html) on the mailing list, and a new version will hopefully be attached to the above bug for further review. The proposed solution involves calculating a MD5 hash of each photo and comparing it to the photo database, so performance issues are being carefully considered.
